New Projects Manager

East Midlands Universal Diamond Drilling are very pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Greenwood as a new Contracts Manager.

Simon moved to Nottingham 3 years ago, from York, after meeting his now wife, in Jamaica who is from Nottingham.  Having worked away from home for 15 years and now having a young daughter and another child on the way he decided he wanted to stay closer to home.

Having worked with EMDD in the past and knowing that they are an established, yet forward thinking company helped Simon in making his decision to start a new career in Nottingham.

Simon previously worked for Simpsons York Ltd for just over 12 years. He was Projects Manager for them at the time of making his move to EMDD and his previous role was site based, overseeing projects ranging from £250,000 to £10,000,000 for clients such as Next, Primark, Debenhams & Asprey Jewellers.

Simon’s many qualifications will no doubt come into good use in his new role with EMDD; NVQ level 2, 3 in joinery and carpentry, NVQ Diploma level 6 in Site Management,

SMSTS – Site Manager Safety Training Scheme, however it is his people skills and on the job experience that made him stand out from other candidates when EMDD started looking someone to fulfil the role of Contracts Manager.

In his role at EMDD Simon will be carrying out site surveys, estimating works, implementing health and safety on site and overseeing the day to day running of a number of sites. He will also look after sub-contractors and will ensure that all necessary health and safety measures are implemented on site.

Simon will work closely with myself and the rest of EMDD’s Directors in overseeing projects from the start through to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget and safely.”
